The Institute of Engineering and Technology’s (IET) Milsatcoms 2021 provides a platform for military and government representatives, Armed Forces technology end-users and the satellite industry to meet and exchange ideas and strategies.
This year’s online event, chaired by Dave Davis, Technical Director, VT iDirect, takes place against a backdrop of a growing UK Milsatcom market, supported by Government efforts to work in collaboration with the industry and capture 10% of the global space market by 2030.
Taking the theme, ‘Technology innovations to exceed Milsatcom requirements’, the event will focus on the latest development shaping the industry, technology trends, the space environment and scalable infrastructures, and includes a comprehensive line-up of speakers from across the government, satellite and commercial landscape.
On 9 March at 15:30-16:00 GMT, Nick Shave, Vice President, Strategic Programmes, Inmarsat Global Government will discuss market and technology trends in the government satcom sector and how to ensure that milsatcom systems can remain "evergreen” when he presents on ‘Delivering certainty in an uncertain world: the path to growth and sustainability in military satcom’.
He will also expand upon Inmarsat’s fully funded technology roadmap that will see us launch seven more satellites by 2024, expand of ground network infrastructure and launch next-generation terminals to future proof our resilient, reliable, secure and advanced SATCOM capability for governments and military around the globe.
