The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) will once again host its annual convention and exhibition in Las Vegas this year and we’re particularly excited as this marks our first major business aviation event since being acquired by Viasat.
The combination of Viasat and Inmarsat as two inflight connectivity leaders is great news for the business aviation industry. Our customers now have access to advanced, high-speed solutions over Ka-band for a broad range of aircraft, from super-midsized to large cabin business jets. They can also select our resilient L-band services, which can either be used as primary connectivity for smaller or older aircraft, or as a secondary system to Ka-band.
In addition, Viasat + Inmarsat will deliver a step-change in future innovation, offering new and improved capabilities that will meet long-term demand from customers.
This bodes well for the business aviation industry, which has reached an important turning point when it comes to inflight connectivity. According to a recent global survey of business aviation professionals, 82% of respondents believe inflight connectivity is now a passenger expectation, rather than a ‘nice to have’. The survey also reinforced that simply having connectivity onboard is no longer enough. Passenger expectations have significantly evolved in recent years, especially during the pandemic as the importance of staying connected – whether for business or leisure purposes – has heightened. As a result, the three most important factors when selecting a connectivity system, in order, were consistent performance, 100% route coverage and high speed.
NBAA attendees can visit the Viasat stand (C10617) to discover how our solutions are ideally placed to meet these needs and satisfy even the most data-hungry users for many years to come.
